Like everyone else on the internet, I briefly became convinced that the future was “local AI”. Why keep paying OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or anyone else? Buy some hardware, download a model, run it at home, keep your data private, escape subscriptions, export controls and whatever else Silicon Valley decides to change next Tuesday. Very empowering….
