Assessment That Informs Learning
A structured review of how your department's tasks, criteria, and feedback actually connect, with specific, prioritized recommendations.
From CHF 2,450
Six named participant places included
The problem this addresses
Most assessment problems in a department aren't visible from inside the department. A task looks fine in isolation; the gap only shows up when you compare it, systematically, against its own stated objectives and against how it's actually marked and fed back on. This service does that comparison for a defined sample of exactly four selected assessments, using instruments built for the purpose, and turns the result into prioritized, actionable recommendations rather than a vague "assessment could be stronger" verdict.
Who it's for
Heads of Department, Curriculum Coordinators, and Academic Directors in international schools who suspect their assessment practice has coherence problems (tasks not matching stated objectives, inconsistent judgement across teachers, feedback that doesn't change what students do next) but don't have the internal capacity or the external distance to diagnose exactly where the gaps are.
Expected outcome
A prioritized, evidence-based view of where your assessment practice is coherent and where it is not, with recommendations your department can act on immediately.
What's included
- A completed Assessment Mapping Matrix covering four selected assessments.
- A Findings and Recommendations Report (5-7 pages): strengths, development areas, evidence, prioritised recommendations, and a short SMART-goal action plan.
- Three 45-minute synchronous sessions via Zoom: Session 1 immediately after the first asynchronous learning week (theory and submitted-work discussion), Session 2 approximately 7 to 14 days later (implementation planning), and Session 3 at approximately 180 days (feedback and long-term reflection, not a second diagnostic). Asynchronous work (document review, drafting) happens between sessions.
- One round of follow-up clarification after delivery.
- Six named participant places are included. The purchasing school may add any number of its own staff before commencement at CHF 75 each. Your school also receives complimentary access to TeachingTide.com, a Swiss-designed partner CPD-management platform that can be used by all staff across your school, for one year.
- A Certificate of Completion ("AST Champion") for session attendees, recording CPD hours.
- Full scope, revision terms, and support limits are confirmed in the proposal.
- If the school wants to run its own standardisation meeting using the findings as a starting point, the Moderation Discussion Guide is included as a resource; facilitating that meeting live is a separately scoped service.
The learning journey
Three 45-minute synchronous sessions via Zoom: Session 1 immediately after the first asynchronous learning week, Session 2 approximately 7 to 14 days later for implementation planning, and Session 3 at approximately 180 days for feedback and long-term reflection. Asynchronous work happens between sessions.
What each participant creates
One bounded artifact review per participant: one submission, one consolidated feedback response, and one resubmission opportunity.
Evidence and framework behind it
A structured Assessment Mapping Matrix compares each of the four selected assessments against its own stated objectives and marking, with a Moderation Discussion Guide the school can use to run its own standardisation meeting.
Exclusions
- Classroom observations or individual teacher performance evaluation.
- Official IB or examination-board moderation.
- A review of the school's entire assessment system; this covers one department or strand.
- Scope details beyond this are confirmed in the proposal.
What the school must provide
One nominated coordinator, four assessment tasks with marking schemes, completion of the intake questionnaire, appropriate anonymization of any student-identifiable material, and attendance at all three synchronous sessions.
