IBDP Mathematics Consultant and Examiner
IBDP Mathematics is one of the most demanding areas in the diploma curriculum, especially for schools balancing Mathematics AA and Mathematics AI pathways, teacher confidence, Internal Assessment systems, and examination performance. I work with schools as an IBDP Mathematics consultant, examiner, and moderator to strengthen curriculum planning, assessment quality, and department decision-making. My support covers course design, scheme of work development, Internal Assessment processes, and the practical challenges of preparing students for final examinations. Because I work with IBDP Mathematics from both the classroom and examiner perspective, I help schools see where expectations are often misunderstood and where systems can be tightened. This includes supporting departments with progression, task quality, moderation structures, and paper analysis. The aim is not simply to raise scores in the short term, but to build a stronger, more sustainable IBDP Mathematics programme that supports both teachers and students over time.
IBDP Mathematics support I provide
IA (Internal Assessment) coaching and moderation
I help schools design IA timelines, supervision systems, feedback checkpoints, and internal moderation routines that reduce inconsistency and improve confidence. This support is especially useful where departments want stronger alignment between classroom guidance and final marking expectations.
Curriculum and scheme of work design
I support departments in planning coherent courses for Mathematics AA and Mathematics AI, including sequencing, coverage, pacing, and alignment with assessment demands. This helps schools avoid overloaded courses and gaps that only become visible late in the programme.
Examination preparation and paper analysis
I work with schools on how to analyse examination papers, identify recurring student misconceptions, and sharpen preparation strategies. This includes question-type review, performance tracking, and interventions that are based on evidence rather than guesswork.
My examiner perspective
I have examined IBDP Mathematics AA Paper 2 and moderated Internal Assessments. That gives schools direct examiner insight into what the IB is actually looking for in student responses, mathematical communication, method selection, and IA marking consistency. This perspective helps departments move beyond generic advice and focus on what matters most in practice.
First teaching 2027, are you ready?
With upcoming DP Mathematics changes linked to first teaching 2027 and first examination 2029, schools need time to review curriculum models, course structures, staffing readiness, and assessment systems. I help departments prepare early so that implementation is thoughtful, manageable, and aligned to future expectations rather than rushed at the last minute.
